Caroline Williams, Grey St. Investments Board Chair
Grey St. Investments, the parent company of New Zealand fintech firms Tax Traders and Taxi, have announced the appointment of Caroline Williams as their new Board Chair.
Williams brings a wealth of experience in governance, strategic leadership, and growth across a broad range of industries.
“We are delighted to welcome Caroline Williams to our Board. Her extensive experience and proven track record of adding value to innovative companies throughout her career aligns perfectly with the long-term goals for Tax Traders and Taxi as well as any future ventures,” says Nicola Taylor, Co-Founder of Tax Traders and Taxi.
“Caroline shares our commitment to making the benefits of the tax system accessible to all and using business as a force for social good.”
Founded in 2012 by Josh and Nicola Taylor, Tax Traders is a leading fintech company creating innovative software for accountants. Taxi is a first-of-its kind fintech solution that was launched last year, addressing cash flow challenges for businesses by offering affordable working capital secured against their provisional tax payments.
“Nicola, Josh and the team have achieved so much with their companies already and I have deep respect for the way in which they operate their business as a force for wider social good,” says Williams.
“I’m pleased to be joining this group of companies as they continue to consolidate their position as New Zealand’s most innovative tax technology provider.
“With the backing of Simplicity’s Private Equity Fund, I’m equally excited to support the growth of Taxi, which is a groundbreaking product that addresses a very real need for smaller Kiwi business.”
Williams has recently ended her role as the Board Chair of Easy Crypto due to the sale of that business to Swftyx, and is the Board Chair of Quantifi Photonics. She has held legal and executive roles at companies such as Telecom (now Spark), Deloitte New Zealand, Bayley Corporation, Pie Funds Management and National Infrastructure Funding and Financing.
Her appointment underscores Tax Traders and Taxi’s commitment to having a Board that provides strategic guidance, sound governance and management to ensure both companies are operating effectively, ethically, and in the best interests of its shareholders.
