Tax Traders named New Zealand's best place to work

Tax Traders and our sister company Taxi have always known our workplace is simply the best. Now we can officially say that it is.

Last night, Tax Traders and Taxi won both the overall title and small business (20-49 employees) category at this year’s Best Places to Work (BPTW) Awards in Auckland.

To be nominated alongside some other truly amazing companies in Aotearoa who have set new standards in terms of creating workplaces where can people thrive is one thing.

But to be named the overall winner in 2024 in a fiercely competitive field is a moment we will never forget given the calibre of the other finalists.

Our co-founder Nicola Taylor was intensely proud to win the overall title.

She thanked the wonderful humans at Tax Traders and Taxi who drive our culture and show integrity, practise generosity, see the person, cultivate joy and innovate courageously every day. Many of our staff were in attendance and joined her on stage.

Nicola closed her acceptance speech with a powerful reminder about the importance of business being a force for good.

“If every business in Aotearoa was an amazing place to work and treated their people well, we would literally solve many of the complex problems that we’re facing as a society.

“You don’t have to choose between being profitable or being amazing to your people. You can do both. In fact, they go together like peas and carrots.

“Let’s make sure every person in this country gets to experience a workplace where they are safe, where they are seen, where they belong and experience so many good things.”

In announcing this year’s BPTW overall winner, the judges said Tax Traders and Taxi stood out because of our flawless submission and outstanding employee survey results.

“The leadership team’s unwavering dedication to professional and personal wellbeing is truly spectacular. The leadership team’s exceptional commitment to creating joy and enhancing the lives of their people shone through, earning them top honours as our overall winner for 2024.”

Tax Traders and Taxi were also nominee for the wellness spotlight award.

The BPTW Awards is New Zealand's programme celebrating outstanding workplace cultures. The awards recognise organisations that demonstrate excellence in leadership, employee engagement, customer experience, workplace innovation, sustainable businesses and more.
